On the Dutch National Open Monument Days, 14 & 15 September, international artists are gathering at the authentic Middelste Molen to exhibit their paper art. They will be interacting with the public providing hands- on activities and
demonstrations under the auspicious vibes of the historical papermill.
De Middelste Molen has been making paper since 1622, and it is a delight to see the mill in action on these days. All the old wooden cogwheels, long screen, belts and hollanders are churning, grinding, rolling and stomping. On these two days the authentic paper mill is open free to the public and attracts many hundreds of visitors.
